Committees are an important part of the culture at Munn’s and essential to the church’s ongoing administration.  They also provide an opportunity for those with particular strengths and talents to find a way to use these gifts.  If you would like more information about any of these committees or have and interest in becoming a member of one of them, please contact the appropriate committee chair. Those persons currently representing the Munn’s congregation at the meetings of Halton Presbytery are: Norm Graham and Margaret Vannest.

Worship and Music Committee

• The Worship and Music Committee supports the spiritual growth of the Munn’s community through its liturgy and music.
• This committee meets once each month.

Faith Formation  (Christian Education)

Chair:  Rotating, contact Meg Grieve, minister

• This committee supports the spiritual growth of the Munn’s congregation through its various education programs and workshops.
• This committee meets once each month.

Committee for Social Justice

Chair: Wendy Belcher  wendypan@usa.net.

• This committee reaches out to the local and global communities with an emphasis on living out Munn’s mission statement concerning justice-making.
• The committee chooses and organizes various programs throughout the year.
• The global groups that Outreach currently supports on behalf of Munn’s include: the Stephen Lewis Foundation, Amnesty International, Canadian Landmine Foundation and Roof for the Roofless.
• The local community groups that Outreach currently supports on behalf of Munn’s include: SAVIS, Habitat Halton, Oakville Parent Child Centre, Syl Apps and Salvation Army.
• This committee meets once each month.

Pastoral Care Team

• This committee provides support to those in the Munn’s congregation who are in need.
• Another role of the Pastoral Care team is to provide tele-ministry to the community of Munn’s throughout the year.
• This committee meets once each month.

Family Ministry Team

• This committee's work is directed at the pastoral care of Munn's families (at Munn's the definition of family includes people on their own, couples, couples or individuals with children)

• This committee meets once each month or more frequently when planning a special event.

Future Growth Committee

• This committee helps the congregation of Munn’s design a growth plan for its spirituality, the growth of the congregation and growth of the finances that support it.
• Acts as a liaison between the Region of Halton, the Town of Oakville, Halton Presbytery and the congregation at Munn’s.
• This committee meets once each month.

Community Development

Chair: Lottie Grootjans lottie@cogeco.ca

• This committee develops the community of Munn’s by being aware of the needs of both established and new members of the Munn’s community.  The committee helps to strategize meeting those needs.
• The committee helps to raise the profile of Munn’s United Church within the River Oaks/ Oak Park neighbourhoods.
• This committee meets once each month.

Welcoming Committee

• This is a sub-committee that reports to the Community Development Committee to welcome those new to the Munn’s community and to help them connect with other members of the Munn’s congregation.
• This committee meets once each month.

Financial Steering Committee

• This committee manages the financial affairs of the Munn’s congregation.
• The committee meets as necessary.

Property Committee

• Property ensures the maintenance of the church building and property.

Bazaar Committee

• This committee manages the organization and finances of Munn’s highly successful annual Country Bazaar.

Stewardship Committee

• The Stewardship committee provides education to the members of Munn’s and to newcomers on how their contributions of time, talent and finances will help Munn’s achieve the goals of its mission statement.

Ministry and Personnel Committee

• This committee is a confidential advisory group the supports the staff of Munn’s United Church and manages its personnel.
• This committee meets on a monthly basis.

Board of Trustees

Chair: Don McConachie  adonmac@sympatico.ca.

• To hold in trust all lands, premises and investments acquired for the use of the Munn’s congregation.
• This committee meets as necessary.
