Munn's United Church Education

Munn’s United Church is committed to children’s ministry. We offer a full range of dynamic programming for children of all ages. The church school at Munn’s is called the “Jubilee Jump-up”. This year our central curriculum resource is “Seasons of the Spirit.” “Seasons of the Spirit” encourages children to explore the meaning and mystery of the Bible and empowers all ages to be transformed in Christ through education and celebration. Here are some of the children’s programs offered at Munn’s:

The youngest in our church family are welcomed in the nursery each Sunday. The nursery is normally staffed by two people: an adult member of the congregation and a high school student. The nursery is located in the day care facilities under the church hall. The nursery is staffed for both the 9:00 a.m. and the 10:30 a.m. service. Munn’s has a fun and interactive Sunday School program, “Jubilee Jump-up”. Children at Munn’s are included in the first part of the worship service and after the children’s story; they are invited to join the Sunday School. Classes are located in the day care and Church hall. Members of the congregation would be happy to direct you to the appropriate class for your child. Sunday School is offered at both the 9:00 am. and the 10:30 am services. The active Youth Group at Munn’s meets in the Pioneer Room (under the sanctuary) during the 10:30 am service. Twice each month there is an extended meeting that includes lunch. The Youth Group also hosts a monthly Youth Dance for the community. The youth group has a yearly retreat at Five Oaks (near Paris, On.) in June and they participate in the 30 Hour Famine. The Senior Youth Group meets twice a month, at a time that is mutually agreeable. The goals of the group are: to grow in spirit, to deepen understanding of the faith, to engage in action that seeks for a just and compassionate world, to develop mutually supportive peer relationships.
