Worship at 9:00am Munn’s Worship and Music Committee made a proposal to the Unified Board to alter the format of the 9:00 am worship service. The Unified Board agreed to a trial of this format. The new format is called “Sanctuary of the Heart” and its goal is to meet the needs of many who are seeking wholeness, deepened spirituality, and a different way of connecting with God. Here is some information about the 9:00am service at Munn's: · the name of the service will be Sanctuary of the Heart. · it will last for one hour. · it’s goal will be to provide a quiet hour to explore and deepen our relationship to God and one another. · the service, for the most part, will have the same outline each week. · iit will begin with a welcoming liturgy which will be followed by a different worship activity to explore the theme of the day. · the plan is to follow the lectionary, so that the 9:00 am service will be based on the same themes as at 10:30. · Rita will continue to provide the music a the 9:00am service · there will be a Kids’ Zone at the 9:00 am service to provide activity and learning for any children who come. (Kids' Zone are quiet activities that children can do in the sanctuary during the worship service.)
Worship at 10:30
The 10:30 worship will continue the format and style of worship that we have been following for the past several years. · there will be a weekly sermon · the choirs will sing at this service · communion will be celebrated on the first Sunday of the month, and baptism, as much as possible, on the third Sunday. · there will be story time for the children, and the Jump Up will begin after story time. · the services will follow the lectionary readings which are also used in the Jump Up curriculum.
Consider your worship needs, and come to share welcome and God’s amazing love.
