About Us

A warm Munn's welcome to you!

Greetings,

I am Rev. Grace EunKyung Lee, minister at Munn's United Church, Oakville. We are working hard to make our church a safe and welcoming place for everyone regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, ability, education, and/or sexual orientation. We are committed to exploring what it means to be a disciple and church while learning a different path of ministry through collaborative work with other United Churches in Oakville. At Munn's United Church, we are committed to deepening our understanding of ministry by being an anti-racist congregation and an Affirming ministry. We welcome you to join our faith journey and to be part of our family.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at grace@munnsunited@gmail.com.

Peace,

Rev. Dr. Grace EunKyung Lee

Rev. Grace EunKyung Lee

Minister

Grace EunKyung Lee (she/her) happily joined Munn's United Church in April 2024. She was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, and moved to Canada in 2003. Later, she went back to Korea to be ordained in 2005 in the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea (P.R.O.K), which is a mandatory requirement for admission to the United Church of Canada. When working at churches in Korea, she faced significant obstacles in her ministry because of her gender. However, MinJung Theology and Liberating Theology, which she learned from Hanshin Theology School, brightened her life and ministry as a female minister, and it motivated her to move to Canada to evolve her calling. Although it has been a lengthy journey to become a United Church minister, her commitment to Intercultural ministry, challenging systemic racism, and being an ally to 2SLGBTQ+ through the Affirming ministry has continued, and she has even delved deeper into understanding. She has a grown son who is the most significant supporter in her life and ministry.

Born and raised in Scarborough, ON (Agincourt), Mark now resides in Burlington with his partner Mike and their puppy, Marvin!

Just prior to the beginning of Covid19, Mark successfully defended his dissertation at the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto.
